Just south of Woodson right off of 183. Four does and a 2.5 year old 8 point this morning. He was chasing the does like crazy and grunting non stop. Fun to watch. Still waiting......Comment

It was dead calm yesterday evening so I decided to try to shoot one with my pistol (something I have never done before). I was only in the stand for about 30 minutes and I had a group of does come in. I got settled in and made a good shot from 25 yards away on the biggest doe. She dropped in her tracks and then got up and ran off. I felt good about the shot but gave her 30 minutes just to make sure. She ran about 50 yards and expired. I was pumped. It was almost as good as using a bow. :-) My wife was in the blind with me and that made it even more special. Back in the blind this morning with the bow and hoping a mature buck makes a mistake.
