Yes it is ridiculous what some people will do for money. You should read some of the laws TABC has. There are plenty that direct accountability in every bar/club/resturant towards the waitress/waitor and the bartender and owners. Over serving a customer is a huge deal and in some instances the server should be held accountable but in a club with tons of people it is hard to make sure whoever buys a drink isnt giving it to a drunk person or make a full assessment of the person ordering a drink. Bartenders can even get in trouble for having less than an ounce(shot) in a bottle because it could cause them to over or under pour the customer. Accountability isnt something that many people of todays "stereotypical society" know anything about.

Dang. I'm a diehard patriots fan. That is ridiculous. How can you sue someone for your family member's bad decision making?

TABC is the most ridiculous state agency imo.

                It needs to be banished.

A little off target on subject but we are in a lawsuit world now.

You're not off target. I have my TABC license for volunteering at a booth at the Rangers' stadium. But geez, we have to quit suing the pencil for misspelled words and take responsibility for our own actions. We are sending the wrong message to our children that we can always blame someone else. I agree with everyone that has posted.

that's actually pretty interesting, and a serious part of the law. it has to do with duty to invitees. a business is obligated, under law, to provide safe conditions for their customers. this is probably what they'll argue under. they could actually win under this part of the law, but it depends on the court.
