    Northeast food plots

Fellow GSers, I'm looking at some property up in maine and if purchased I plan on getting a baseline landscape set up. Any ideas on seed mixes that will survive cold climates and require little maintenance. I'm not talking crazy food plots but maybe just a couple grass/clover fields to get things started. Thanks!!

Rye is the most cold tolerant cereal grain so that should be your baseline.

I'd do a mix of Rye, Clover, Radishes, Turnips for the fall plots.

I would think a brassicas/turnips? The plot on my land in Wisconsin is clover and brassicas, half and half. I got wild game buffet and big & beasty from Frigid Forage. The plots are bringing deer in. Maine might be totally different?????
