I can't believe how dense raccoons are!

We get done hunting this evening, and after we climb down, Hunter shines the light around. Sees somes coons at the base of a tree about 50 yards away. Throw a bolt back in the crossbow and get over that way. By this time the coon has made its way up in the tree about fifteen feet. I get him a shot lined up (Texas Heart Shot) where a pass through will land in a fresh mowed field. The bolt has a luminock on it so it should be easy to find. He makes the shot, it enters just left of the pooter, exits out forward of the left shoulder. Only got about five inches of bolt out of the skin. Freakin' coon stopped the bolt moving 345 FPS quicker than my block target. So now we've got the dilemma of getting my bolt, luminock and broad head out of the tree. The tree wasn't conducive to climbing, especially after dark. Hunter finally finds a down limb long enough to poke him out of the tree. Fun fun fun.
