So if there is no void?

What is about 3 inches below the top of the back, just back of the ribcage. I have looked at pics and it looks like the liver is just a little farther back. I know there is blood.

Needles to say I lost a doe and I would like an idea of what I hit. I have it on video and can clearly see the hole after the arrow passes thru.

Not a good shot, I know. Deer did not move until after the fletching entered. The arrow was blood end to end. Did not smell of gut. Very little blood to trail. Trail stopped at less than 100 yards

That shot could take a couple days for the deer to die. It happens. Learn from it and don't get discouraged

that shot is good lung shot, deer died with in minutes.
I shot one the other day nearly straight down or maybe 3 yards from my 18 foot perch.
facing me just missed spine angle hit last few inches of lung and out stomach. dies in 100 yds. your pic shows more lung than i got

There is a void. Hit it a few times. Deer will survive and might return to the feeder in a couple weeks. Seen this happen before also.

There is no void...shot looks like good liver lung where you drew..

But 3" below the top of the back is backstrap....next time you clean one measure the top edge of the back down to the spine and you'll see.

Yep...NO VOID. You probably hit higher than you think.

I'll have to agree with Smart on this one. (Man, it hurts seeing that statement in writing)
