    Lens kit

Are the lens kits worth it for sights. I tend to want to say no but didn't adding a lens to a rifle change the way that we shoot? I'm torn hate to buy a sight that can't accept a lens then decide I want one.

Interesting thread. Going to watch this for everyone's thoughts. Hopefully, people that use or have used them will respond.

Alley Dog, exactly what is the lens supposed to do? Magnify, clarify, both?

Several factors to achieving a good image with a sight lens.

Your current vision, near sighted, far sighted, astigmatism etc.
Sight bar length, distance of scope from peep/eye, distance of peep from eye
Often you will have to test combinations of lens/verifier or clarifier lens combos to get a good sight picture.

Even then, there's always the possibility of lens fogging or worse yet, a drop of water getting in the peep lens at the moment of truth.

What JFISHER said it will make the target larger. All I need was to see my pins better.

Another consideration; As with rifle scopes, they magnify everything, most importantly movement.

Easy to alleviate with a rifle, sandbag, branch, sling or some other brace...not so much with a bow, especially under the added adrenaline of "the fever".

I found myself taking way longer to process a shot than normal(which only adds fatigue and more movement), with the perception that I wasn't able to hold on target.

Great information. I'm not really having a problem at this time. Just thought if there was something out there that would make it better, I'd give it a try.

I was thinking more along the lines on what HHA offers with there sights. I think up to 6X. I understand having the perception that your not on target. I was more or less wondering if it made anyone shoot better.

Indoor target and some 3D shooters...definitely. Too many uncontrollable variables in early morning, late evening light and weather factors make it unreliable and more of a hindrance in hunting situations.IMHO
