So with the introduction of the new lineup mathews has received the usual praise and hate from archers. I have a story to share for you guys that think mathews shooters are all fanboys and those of you who won't give mathews a try because of the stereotype.
I bought a vector 32, and really liked the bow, but did not love it. Started searching for a bow that would give me that spark, and I had my mind set on a bowtech experience. I shot one and really enjoyed it. The back wall was awesome and it had a relatively smooth draw and was dead in the hand at the shot. I then put my bow up for trade, and I got a message about somebody wanting to trade for a chill.... My knee jerk reaction was to laugh at the idea of owning a mathews, and immediately told the guy I wanted a bowtech. Well my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to test the chill at Sullivan's here in college station. This was the best idea I ever had. Eddie, who I have come to know from multiple trips to the shop, set up a bowtech experience and the chill to the right poundage and have me a release and told me to have at it. After just a few shots, my outlook on mathews completely changed. I actually love the chill. By far the best bow I've ever shot!!! Smooth draw, not much of a hump into the extremely solid back wall, and it is quiet on the shot. Everything I could hope for in a bow, and it is a MATHEWS!!!! I've never been a fanboy, and I never will, but this experience taught me that the brand doesn't mean a thing other than mere perception. I don't think I'll ever talk bad about a bow again until I shoot it for myself.
