I am in the market for a duck dog. I would like to start with a puppy and needed some advice on what dog kennels you might recommend around the state. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

I bought a pup from this Kennel out of Howdy in 2000. Mary Tatum was great to deal with and my dog was a great retriever. She's retired now laying on the floor next to the bed.

Id find someone with hunting dogs and buy from them not so much of a kennel. I have a buddy with dogs with great pedigrees he has built. Master hunters etc. My BIL has 2 dogs that are bred hunters that run circles around the others when they are in the field.
I know where 4 chocolate puppys are now that were born yesterday 4 already spoken for.

Glenda and her daughter, Juli, are awesome people and tremendous trainers. Very well respected nationally. This is a litter sired by Usher and he is one of the most incredible dogs I have been around.
They are located in Brownwood.

Angie and Tim Becker of Tioga Retrievers trained my lab. They also have some great bloodlines and a littany of Master Hunters. They are based out of Aubrey, TX near Ray Roberts. www.tiogaretrievers.com

We got our last one from The Retriever Academy. She has been a great dog for us. Derek has a great set up with some incredible training grounds. He told us what to expect from our pup and he was right on the money. He is a heck of a trainer with a great track record.
Several of the other mentioned kennels also produce some nice dogs.
