    Who is the Stock Guru

So, I've got some stock in American Airlines. I bought 36000 plus in January 2012 when it was .57 cents a share. In January 2013 my wife nagged and nagged me to sell some, and now I'm sittint on 10000 plus shares.

If and when US Airways and American merge, does the stock split or does American go by the wayside and becomes worthless?

Under the terms of the merger agreement, at the time of closing each outstanding share of common stock of US Airways will be exchanged for one newly issued share of common stock of AMR Corporation and stakeholders of AMR Corporation and its debtor subsidiaries will receive newly issued shares of AMR Corporation’s common stock.

Or in other words you will receive shares in the new airline.
