I was wandering how many of yall have killed a deer with a 204 and is it big enough and if you can please post pics of the animals killed with a 204 .... thanks for any input
Don't have any pix. But my buddy has shot and killed a lot of hogs with his 204. Many where shot behind the shoulder. Went short distances before pilling up. Haven't lost one yet. I was surprised.
When I hunt with a gun it's my 204 but I have a Remington 700. I don't have any pics but shoot deer with it all the time have yet to loose one or come close to loosing one. They all drop in their tracks. Ear hole is where it's best. Drops hogs like no other!
Haters are going to hate though and say its not big enough but they are just compensating for their bad shooting skills among other things....
I agree it will get the job done with precise bullet placement but there are much better calibers to choose. Personally anything less than a .22 caliber is too small in my book.
might want to check state rules. I think it has to be a .22 caliber or larger. not sure about this though
Nope just centerfire.
I have killed 1 deer with a dome shot with a .204 and watched several others die that day but a buddy was shooting. 3 were dome shots also and he shot one muley doe in the heart with it and she went all of 20 feet and crashed. So it will more than get the job done with good shot placement, but don't expect it to go all the way through the deer from butt to chest or vice versa.
