    Shoot through windows and Rifles

    First year hunting out of a pop up using a rifle, can you shoot a rifle through these so called "shoot through" mesh windows. Yes there is already holes for your rifle to poke out but what if you need to take a shot from the corner.

    Very knowledgable friend of mine said not to shoot through them, but the Velcro is very noisy and I hate to take it down right now, yes I am in the blind!

    I wouldn't. Shouldn't hurt the bullet but the muzzle blast will take out the screen.

      Bow yes, Rifle no for two reasons. One if your muzzle is close to the window you will actually melt through it, and two the volume of the shot is magnified inside the blind to a point where even hearing protection will leave your ears ringing. Not that I've done it.

        No, and especially not with a ML, or that's what I hear..it might start a fire.

            Good question. Never had seen that one on here before. I would have said no due to potential ballistic issues. Lol on the muzzie answer - could only imagine the smoker the pop-up would be like after the shot - not to mention potential of fire.

              My son shot a deer a few years ago with his 243 out of my pop up and let me tell you the muzzle blast will blow the mesh apart. They are not made as "shoot through" for guns.

                And start a fire......Learn from mistakes.yes, I did it.LOL but I got my buck once the smoke cleared and the fire was put out

                    I did it yesterday morn on hog. lead went thru mesh pushing the blind out and muzzle blast tore hole in blind. It was my buddy's 10 year old blind and he was pi**** that I put a hole in it. Had to tape it up to keep the rain out?????

                    Great story that will be told n camp for years.
