Live from the Flood Zone, Robertson County

Well, Lake Limestone was too full so they are releasing copious amounts of water. My best sets, in the river bottom would require Scuba gear and a spear gun. Made a scrambling plan and I'm in a ladder stand on the hill the hasn't been hunted in a couple years. I've got hand corn at 20,30 and 40 yards. I'm hoping one of the big boys retreating from the water comes through this little opening and stops long enough for me to trip the release.

We have a place on keechi creek and all our spots are under water lost 4 trail cameras and a pop up. Probably 200 acres of our place is under water

Well, so much for live, that was the only post I could get to go through. Nada for me, I stuck to the bow, those with boom sticks and could get to their area killed some good bucks. Our lease went from 2900 acres to about 700 acres due to the flood. I still don't know what all I lost because I still couldn't get to my 2 hunting area this morning before I left. The pic below show the water from the cabin, your not supposed to see water from there, just rolling hills usually.Click image for larger version

Thank you. If its all gone/destroyed, it will be about a $4000.00 loss, game cams, feeders, tripods, blinds and pop-up. Water came up too fast to get stuff out safely. I guess it's the price to pay for hunting river bottom property.

I'm on the river bottom below Limestone as well and 2 of my setups are under water. I got one camera out Thursday evening when the river was still in in banks. I just hope my stands and feeders didn't get washed down stream. Good luck to you.

Ya they were letting out water as fast as they could. Only seen it like that a few times, hopefully y'all can recover some stuff

I lost a john boat I had sitting on the bank Wednesday night when the lake came up--never expected it to rise so quickly. If we get the rain they are predicting today and tomorrow, river bottoms could be flooded again.

I hunt the brazos river bottom and had the same problem. All I lost was my hanging feeder, Game cam still works. Water went down within a few days, Got lucky and shot a big 12 point yesterday evening. Good luck guys

This is the second time in five years. I love the lease for many reasons, but, mainly because I have known many of the members for most of my life. With that said, enough is enough, it's time for a new lease next year. So, if anyone has a lead on one for next year, let me know.
