Using a smartphone or tablet for hunting

I started thinking last night about a deer call I bought. I ended up taking the DVD and recording all of the different deer calls on the my smart phone.

Now I just need a decent amplification system and I could use my smart phone in my deer stand to make any call I want with perfection.

    Anyone doing this already?

I haven't read the regulations in several years now, but seem to remember something illegal about using electronic devices to call game animals. You might want to check that out. I may just be confused too, as they tell me that comes with age.

I've used my smartphone hunting foxes. I'd record about 30 seconds of a predator call, then hide the phone in a little tree branch or something and run the audio player on a loop. Then sit back about 100 yds. A "poor man's FoxPro" It did fetch a fox once, and a bunch of coons.

You are good for everything except ducks and waterfowl. Just look up some apps they have them (I hunt) and already has more call than any man would ever use. All you need is a cheap little speaker to plug into headphone jack.

                      TPWD website says this
                      Calling Devices

Calling devices (including manual and mouth-operated), recordings, and electrically amplified calls may be used to hunt game animals and game birds, except electronic calls may not be used to hunt migratory game birds, unless allowed by special regulation.

Bluetooth is only effective for about 30 feet or 10 yds. Don't really know if that is enough to justify the cost for what you are doing.

If it is, there are some really nice weatherproof Bluetooth speakers on the market

                          Thnx for clarifying

I think jawbone makes a great wireless speaker. It's LOUD. Just can't recall the name of it.
