I have 7 Ultrafire 501B lights. All of mine use the rechargeable 18650 batteries. I have never seen an 18650 that wasn't rechargeable, but of course that doesn't mean there aren't any.....

Ebay and Amazon have em pretty cheap. A lot of deals on a battery or 2 plus charger for $6-$20 depending on capacity etc. The higher mah, the longer it will last between charging. Nowadays you might as well get 3000mah or more.
