After all the tips, tricks and knowledge I've gained from TBH over the yrs., I'm just glad I could offer a lil something that will hopefully help everyone save a few bucks.

I can get all the ingredients from the Dollar store or WalMart for $10 bucks and I can make a minimum of four+ blocks, which usually run around $10/block when I buy them from the local feed store.

How does it hold up in the rain?

Def. going to have to try and make one of these. We go thru blocks fairly quickly and at 10 bucks a block it adds up. If I can make 4 for 10 then that would be great. Thanks for the tip.

Well, they didn't hold up very well a week ago when we got 12-15 inches of rain here

Seriously though, it depends on how compressed and hardened you get the blocks before you place them out.
I've had them out over a few days of light drizzle without them melting away or crumbling apart anymore than the store bought blocks.

Do you have any experience cooking them for a shorter time? Im thinking doing 3 hours but it may have an affect on their consistentcy....

When I initially started making the blocks I only put them in for 2-3 hrs. and they did not set up at all, they just crumbled apart.
