Well got into the stand early today....had does all over me till around 6:00...they had moved off towards the creek area behind me. About 3 mins later they came running back out and I grabbed my crossbow...small buck was in tow....then his daddy stepped out and my heart about blew up....he was the biggest buck I've had that close.....but he skirted me and walked into the open, too far for a shot. I was grunting at him the whole time....he stopped and sniffed the ground and looked my way as I was grunting....he turned and b-lined for me....10 yards broadside and I took my time and settled the pin....cut the top of his back and he hopped and ran about 20 yards then went to trailing the does....brothers I am sick to my stomach and can not understand what I did.....I guess the arrow went high as I didn't see him drop at all.....well the crossbow is out and the Hoyt is back in business.....just wanted to get one with my X-bow. I will be right back in the stand in the morning to see if he comes back....

Broke my hand last year, hunted with a borrowed crossbow. It was fun and all but that ^*~:* scope was constantly off. Had to sight it in every time I hunted with it. I feel your pain. -
