    Dehydrator question

I started beef jerky last night before going to bed. I started it around 20 pm, when I got up this morning about 6am to move the racks around I noticed the dehydrator is blowing cold air. Is this normal? I was thinking it use to blow warm air. Will the meat still be good as long as it dries.

If you used some cure it should be. Your rightthough, it should be warm air

I used worstesier, soy sauce, liquid smoke and other spices. I did not use an actual cure.

Mine is thermostat controlled warm air. I think one of the TV food guys did it with a box fan, so cool air. Dry is the biggest key, but without warming it or having the right ambient humidity level, I think it would take forever.

My guess is the heating element is burned out.

I moved the meat to the oven to finish it, while moving it to the oven racks it all smelled fine but will recheck after it dries.
