    Finding a landowners name...

Can you get a landowners name by contacting the county appraisal's office and telling the where the piece of property is located? If not, how can I find out?

There is some land right by ours that doesn't get hunted. I just want to see if the landowner would be interested. All they can do is say no.

Ya i know what you mean. I think that you can go to the court house and find out that way. That is what i have been doing to find out about land @ my area.

You can usually get the information on line. Your county tax assessor's website should have it. Williamson county has pretty good plat maps, but I've never really looked at other places.

Live Oak doesn't have a website...that's the problem. I emailed the county appraiser last week, but he hasn't replied back.

I would just make a trip down to the apprasal district and look at their maps to get the tracts ID #. It's a lot easier to find the tract by the tract ID# then by trying to give someone a discription of the tract, or any other method.

Like it was mentioned, your better off going to the appraissal office and talking in person if you want asnwers quick. Some counties have good websites that can give you that info but many are still technically challenged.
If you go in, take as much info as you can, even a google earth map or something outlining the location your interested in. It can help speed up the process.

This a good website for finding appraisal district websites. No Live Oak county like you said. Like mentioned above, going in person will get you quicker results.

                  KNK,
Here's the link. Maps are available online, you may have to download something before you can get to them.

More information about your neighbors than you ever really wanted!

You said "right next to ours". That just made it easy. Go to the Apprissal District with the Legal description and Tax # of yours and ask for the name of the person owning beside you. They will give you a name and address only. You can then send a letter or look up phone # off internet
