This bow hunting is a pain in the ........

Buffalo, Texas - I started bow hunting 3 yrs ago. Shanked a doe and a spike.......
I thought ok whats the big deal ....... For the last 2 yrs nothing.......
Cows, pigs, wind, anything not to get the deer in range !!!
This morning 3 does at 5 yards directly behind me ...... Then they walk off in a line directly behind a tree. Then the largest buck ive seen while bow hunting (decent 8) comes down the fence line behind my feed pen, 30 yards and my arrow hits the top strand of barbwire.
Anyone wanna buy all my crap !!!! Just kiddin but i am really frustrated.

And before anyone says it i already know "thats why they call it hunting" -

Bow hunting is like golf, its an obsession you love to hate !

Had a nice 9 point walking directly to me, cow comes up and spooks a small 8 that was at the feeder the big 9 followed...I feel your pain...oh but I am going back in the morning to try it again!

Hear ya. Yesterday had a doe duck my 20 yard shot. In the afternoon, a doe was at about 15 yards but needed to take one more step to clear the front leg when she turned and just left as a neighbor 1/4-mile away through the woods cranked up amplified karaoke music. Finally, another doe was almost -- but not quite presenting a shot --at 10 yards, with three more coming in, when all looked across the pasture and quickly de-camped due to a couple of cows coming to hit the bump feeder I use. Actually pretty entertaining, though. One of the deer stood 50 yards away and watched the cows work the toggle on the feeder for at least 15 minutes... until the horses came to run off the cows. Still a fun hunt.

Leon Co can be a tough county to hunt at times. Mature bucks and does are hard to kill round here.
