Line drying does works best but I always use autumn scented dryer sheets when using dryer.

Exactly why worrying about " scent free " will diminish the hunting experience.
Unless you figure out a way to hunt from inside a ziplock bag your wasting your time /energy on something that Cannot be accomplished

You realize that no matter what steps or precautions you take you will never be scent free. All the time, effort, and money spent trying to stay scent free you could have bought an Ozonics and been do a with it.

I use the dryer sheets in my storage bag, wife doesn't want them in the dryer. Says she doesn't want her clothes to smell like dirt.

This is why I hang my clothes outside to air dry.

Bingo. Drying clothes in a dryer used to dry girly smelling laundry defeats the purpose.

I dry them outside then put them in a ziplock bag with some non scented sheets
