    Food plot size

I'm on a east Texas timber lease so I can't clear any trees for a food plot and there are no fields so the largest area I can come up with to plant would be about 60 yards across Max. Would a food plot in some thick woods about 40 yards by 60 yards draw in deer to make it worth while?

I would do it...every little bit helps and if you can get a good mix for your area, the deer may prefer your plot over other resources

I was thinking about also setting up a protien feeder on the edge of it as well. Anyone have any experience running a feeder with their plot?

ours is about 160 yds by 75 yds and it pulls in several deer a day. It is all oats, with clover coming up, but we have 2k acres of wheat fields around our 250 acres. Looks like the oat patch is working to keep them on our place since we have all the cover.

I have a small food plot behind my house thats about 10-15yds wide by about 40yds long on the edge of my woods. Its about 75yds behind my house and unless hes big we just watch the deer in it. We've had as many as 7 doe at once eating in it. Im able to fertilize and water it because of where it is if not the deer would have already ate it off. And im in east texas in anderson county.

                        This is pretty encouraging.

That's plenty big for a fall plot.

I have kept a feeder in my plots for several years.....works great.
The other day I had 2 8pts come in to the feeder. Then 6 does came in after. The bucks ran the does off the feeder and they started eating in the plots. Then after the corn was cleaned up the two bucks ate for 30mins in the plots.
