    Need advice on shot

What would the signs be for a low brisket shot compared to a low heart shot?

    #2
I shot one last year and I know I pulled the shot. Hit more brisket area and didn't get much blood sign at all. More "fat and clearer fluid"on the arrow. Had I gotten further back and got more vitals I would have drawn blood. And I didn't shoot a rage. Had to go there

Little blood and a lot of deep foot prints as he hauled tail out of there.
If you shot one in the brisket he will likely survive

Lots of hair on the ground and a white film on the arrow with little blood.

From the broadhead to the middle of the arrow, I had: some white hair and a very little specs of blood.

From the middle of the arrow to the nock, I had: lots of blood, white fletchings turned red and very little hair.

The deer 'mule kicked' at impact. The arrow was a very quick passthru.
After he kicked, he fell to the ground but had his hind legs under him pushing him forward along the ground.

He ran about 40 yards and began to get those wobbly drunk legs.
I have found sparse blood and also coaster size pools of blood. Dark red. Almost like blobby and clumpy, like it is coagulating.

Yes......but it will be a spotty track and then quit...at least in my experience

That's what I'm afraid of. I've seen it on a doe and a pig.

Sitting in the truck in the pasture. I'm going to stay the night and look in the morning.
I can't afford to push this buck.
If it is brisket or muscle, he will live.

If not, then I will find him in the morning.

                              This buck has 9 life's.

I shot him 2 seasons ago in The neck. I rattled him in and after doing some ninja moves to duck the arrow, all I got was a video that I play over and over of the shot. He came back a week later and took a couple of pics. Never saw him last season.

This buck has been shot twice in the last 2 seasons.
