    Switch from Hoyt to Matthews

I was talking to a friend of mine last night who has been shooting hoyt bows his whole life, not unlike myself, and said he picked up a Matthews and bought it on the spot.

Anyone else go from Hoyt to Matthews? I think he is crazy, I love my bow and dont see myself changing, but I was just curious to see if anyone else has had the same experience.

I've had each kind of bow and currently have a Mission (which is made by Matthews) and a Hoyt. I have to say that the Mission is much smoother and shoots great. I like both of the bows though. It's just really a personal preference.

Most famous person I can think of making that switch is Michael Braden. Lifetime Hoyt pro shooter, switched to Mathews a couple of years ago. Lotsa other folks do it for a ton of reasons.

I have switched from Bear to Browning to Mathews to Hoyt and back, pretty much liked all of them at the time. Too much brand loyalty will eventually have you shooting a bow you are not as comfortable with IMO

          What he said!

Having said that, when I was lookin' for a wheelie bow, I shot them all, and liked the grip of the HOYT best of all, but did not like the draw and aftershock. I wound up picking the Mathews Switchback at the time. I'm in the market again now, and used the Switchback as my benchmark... better or worse than the SB... after going through the evaluation, I picked the Drenalin LD... smoothest, quietest best feeling bow in my hand I have ever shot. Waitin' on my new one to come in at The Bow Zone now.

I met him the other day, he was at Gander Mountain in Cypress shooting on league night with his wife. Dang, that guy is good.

Been shooting Hoyt forever and don't plan on switching......It's all your personal preference and you just need to shoot what feels best to you.....Although your friend may have fallen and hit his head pretty hard to want to switch to a mathews

I had a Hoyt a couple yrs ago, a buddy let me shoot his Legacy, which i did NOT like. For some reason it felt stiff unlike my Hoyt. Then I shot the Drenalin and the Switchback XT. Was sold on the Drenalin until I had heard of folks complaining about the slim limbs cracking... so i went with the XT. SO VERY GLAD I DID!!! I WOULD NOT TRADE THIS BOW FOR ANYTHING!!!

I switched from Hoyt to Mathews back to a Hoyt and then to a Bowtech. I am currently bowless, but not for long.

Show me the MONEY I can guarantee you Michael did not switch because Mathews was a better made bow than Hoyt, it's called Marketing. In the Same year John Dudley left Mathews for Hoyt.....and he was their head Marketing guy, and had been with them for a long time. Dave Cousins of Hoyt is one of my Best Friends, it's unbelievable how many offers he get's at the end of every fiscal year.......but Hoyt has him locked in, he is Hoyt's Golden Child, for good reason and they take care of him nicely, and most Professional Archers like to be taken care of, regardless of what the limb decal says. My only point being in this whole thread is......They all make great Bows...... Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, Alpine, PSE, Kodiak, Bear, Parker, Mission, Reflex, Martin, Limbsaver,Whisper Creek, Pearson, Diamond, Elite, High Country, Browning, Darton, APA...........They all make great bows, some folks solely buy bows because "John Doe" shoots one, and that is great if it gets them into Archery, I could care less what Bow anyone is shooting.......as long as they are shooting!!

By the way I shoot Hoyt, and I think your Friend is CRAZY
