Can anyone agree or seen it? My lease manager called to tell me bucks are runnin does, I have not been out there in a while so I don't know. San marcos/ wimberly area. I will be out there tomorrow am just to make sure

Yeah I saw young bucks chasin and fighting last weekend but, that's typical.

I have been seeing some decent scrapes but definitely not rutting in hays county right now.

I had several bucks in Kansas. Not even the young bucks looked twice at doe. I didn't find any scrapes or rubs. That being said I expect I go back in two weeks there will be a lot of sign.

I seen a scrape in Ks this past weekend bigger than I have ever seen up there this time of year....and Ive been hunting there a LONG time!

starting pre rut activity but not really going yet. Give it a couple weeks. I'm still going out Saturday morning and rattle a little should be fun.

My buddy lives in Woodcreek and he said the last two days he's seen several does cross his property with bucks in trail. If it isn't going, it's close. I saw a doe, two buck fawns, and a spike this AM close to Wimberley off 12, but that's all.

young bucks chasing doesnt mean anything, i used to see 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks chasing does and think the rut was heating up. they are like teenagers going through puberty and dont really understand, they will run themselves stupid while the mature buck sits back, plays it cool, waits for the does to become receptive then moves in and uses much less energy. watch the big boys and dont be fooled by the young uns.

I saw a buck dogging a group of does tonight in gtown. His ole neck was blowed up too.
