Spoiled meat in deep freezer. Best way to clean?

I know I've seen someone else post this on here but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Had an electrician come over and he flipped a breaker and forgot to flip it back. Well, I came home after being away for 2 weeks and blood was running out of the freezer. Electrician was great and covered the expense of bad meat. Now all I need to do is get it cleaned and back in action. What is the best way to get rid of the smell and clean the blood out?

Duct tape freezer shut, bury and buy a new one.

Take outside hose down then use a multi purpose kitchen cleaner that has bleach in it.

Anti bacterial soap and hot water

Follow up with bleach and hot water

Put charcoal briquettes on newspaper and let them sit in there for 3 - 5 days along with a bowl of pure vanilla extract

Check it for smell after the sit and odor absorption soak, if it's ok, fire it up. If it's not, repeat another round and make sure if you have rubber gaskets, you get those cleaned as well as you can.

Exact same thing happened to me - same time frame too. A wonderful assortment of beef, venison, black bear and some lobster tails. 2 weeks in the summer heat unplugged - WOW. Smelled almost as bas as the flood waters during Katrina.

Anywho - first plug it in and let it cool off. The colder it is the less smell. Second, once all the visable sludge and gunk is out, use hot bleach water and fill it up . Let it soak. Empty and repeat 3 more times. Air dry it, and have a whiff. There is going to be some residual smell. Decomp is a hard stank to get rid of.

Lot of baking soda and time will eventually soak it all up though. Took me a good 45 days to get rid of smell to the point I felt comfy putting meat back in and not worried it would taint it.

I wouldn't start it back up - if you do, you're going to have the fan sucking that smell up through the entire system and you'll always have a smell. Just clean it with bleach and water. At least do that as best you can before you even think about starting it back up. I'll bet you can get it clean enough.
