I always wear them higher than my boot.. Which ones did this to you? That sounds irritating even with the sock up.

Kenetrek Mountain Extremes....best boots I have ever worn and all we are wearing from now on.

I'm working on getting my wife, dad, and sister a pair.

Try on a pair then tell me what you think.

I would wear my Danner Pronghorns anywhere. But I also like my Rocky Athletic Mobility Great comfort but may not be warm enough
Think Rocky store is closing them out for under $100 new models are $235

Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the looks of some of the Lowa boots, anywhere to try some of these out?

I used Danners for many years. Something happens to Danners. Dont know what it was, import? but don't like them any longer. I did try the Lowa boot and love them!! I dont rifle hunt any more so they are plenty good for me. I am walking up to 10 miles a day at times and Lowa makes a great boot!. If your hunting cold weather you might look for something else. Lots of good boots out there.

                    Amen to that, brother!

I've got some super comfy Justin's and Chippewa's and I love them for living/working in South Texas; but I couldn't imagine hunting elk in them! Seems like some people would do good to read the OP instead of just the thread title. Lol!

Another vote for dinner pronghorns. Worn mine from elk and antelope in New Mexico to pheasant in the panhandle to deer in central texas to beer drinking around a fire.

Man you can't be Lowa. I did my first Alpine hunt 2 years ago. Hunted in and out above and below tree line. My Lowa hunters are heavy but are pefect for hunting with a pack cause they offer so much support. Every day I did an 8 mile loop hunting all day.
One day I decided to wear my Rocky boots. I was wore out in 4miles. Good boots make a huge difference. Lowa's are not cheap but worth it when you consider you won't need hunting boots for 20years

Ultralight meindls. Best boot I have worn. Put some miles on them in the mountains in some wet terrain. Extremely comfortable and no leaks
