When I hunted Lavaca County a few years ago the rut would be in full swing by the first week in Oct.
Sometimes the last week in Sept was great depending on when bow season opened.Comment

Around my place they are running hard right now.Hunted past couple days and every buck i saw was chasing a doe real hard.I'm in Mentz,not far from Lavaca county.Comment

Saw three different bucks this morning, 2 of which were chasing nothing but scent on the ground breathing hard and tongue out. Cool morning. Big boy seen on camera with different hours closer to daylight. Hopefully he makes a mistakeComment
