Sure wished I had it. Too long ago, before photos and deer kills were normal post-kill procedures. Exposure film, hunters, and quality LDPs......it was never about the hunter; In my day, it was always about the experience and kill. To be truthful, honest and spot on for my generation, post kill, it was all about the gut pile, field dress with procedures, with an elder providing guidance (as they sipped beverages and smoked a pipe or cigarette), and tutelage in all aspects of deer processing!
No one thought about film. It was way too important to educate versus, glory shots of the kill. I'm not saying others did what we did, but our objective of hunting was all about passing the skills required to be productive to the tribe versus the size and or shot precision required to execute the kill.
The days of, no high fences, no deer kill competitions, no EGO STROKING LDP's by hunters that hunted only for size versus, those who luckily put the scene together to drill a bruiser, using "lay of the land feed and or oats only" for deer feed supplementals.
Back in those days, we didn't even know what was gonna come into the shooting lane.....film processing was expensive and digital timers, cameras and all things "RIGHT NOW," where only things that we hoped they used during VIETNAM and the then MODERN WAR CAMPAIGN!
I'm old school but.....I can hang with the best of anyone that knows the latest, greatest now! I hate today...it pays my bills but...YESTERYEAR......A JACKET THEN MEASURED A TRUE HUNTERS SKILL, ABILITY versus INCOME., SCOUTING, AND OPPORTUNITY!!!!
Not thread bashing but....what I'm stating is simply, my EXPERIENCE HERE IN TEXAS THRU THE DECADES!
I MISS THESE DAYS!
