    Going rate for wood fences?

    Any fence builders on here?

My neighbor is getting quotes and I told him I'd split the section that we share. The quote sounds crazy. Is there a market rate per foot? No gates. Just 45 yards of straight fence. What would y'all say is reasonable?

Need more details. Two or three rail, treated or cedar pickets. Metal posts or 4x4 treated. Screwed on or nailed

How tall, rot board 6" or 12", double sided, single or good neighbor, 1x6 pickets, dog ear, cap on top?

Good neighbor 7' with rot board $17.50
Same, but 8' $19 per ft
One sided 7' with rot board $19
Same, but 8' $20.50 per ft

These are cedar prices. Treated should be a little less

My neighbor is a fencing contractor out in the western part of the state(boom is causing crazy inflated prices on most things), and he told me the other day that they are getting around $30 a foot for 6' cedar, 3 rail, with metal poles. Sounds crazy to me but that seems to be how it is with this wonderful economic boom!!!!!!

Bobby , anywhere from 30 to 40 a foot here in kingwood. That was my estimates to put up the new one behind the pool. Wound up doing it myself.

Forgot to specify, 3 rail, 7ft high with 8"rot.

Down here in Pearland a 3 rail 6' cedar runs $20-25/ft.

The estimates posted are about what I got down here in Corpus Christi last week for a two rail, cedar with the 6" board across the bottom.

It was high enough that I skipped what would have been my first weekend hunting to do it myself. Materials and my labor were a lot cheaper.

don't waste your money on anything less than three rails, or use treated lumber for the pickets.......

                          Also go with metal posts.

They will last 10x more than 4" x 4" wood posts.

I always shake my head when people put up a new fence and they use wood posts.

Its a 100x easier to replace pickets every 5-7 years than digging new post holes.

Our neighbor wanted to do the same thing. Quote was 24$/ft. I laughed. I haggled some and got them down to 19$/ft since it was multiple homes. I think that is the best I could find. Brother in law installs new for 13$/ft, but that is with no existing takedown.

                            Quotes are from cypress area.
