    Very odd

My son shot a buck yesterday afternoon at 20yds or so. Complete pass through with a slicktrick. Arrow entered left, broke ribs, and exited right breaking ribs and right front leg, bled like a cow in a slaughter house and was down in 15yds. This is what I find odd, his arrow was laying 5yds beyond where the deer was shot and the head was gone.....not broken, unscrewed. The head was still on upon exit because the exit wound showed obvious cuts and the leg bone was sliced. I have to wonder what happened after exiting the deer that would allow the head to unscrew.
I asked him all the obvious questions including if the head was possibly barely on to begin with, and all I got was a stupid look, and assured that it was. I just though it was strange and would share.

If the head was loose the arrow rotation could have unscrewed it once it hit the ground

Broadhead was probably loose ,and unscrewed on exit , congrats my Slicktrick action wasn't quite so positive last weekend

I'm not a fan either and steer clear of them.

Not near enough torque for that and the rotation is wrong.

check the broadhead and make sure it has threads on it. It could have been loose and sheared the broadhead shaft when it exited.

                      I lost a doe with a slicktrick.

Try putting a little string wax on the BH threads before you screw them in.

There has been deer lost with every BH made. I would not blame the head quite so quick.

True story.......I was practicing and get this......I had a bh separate (unscrew?) from the shaft just before hitting the target. The bh was in the target separated from the shaft, which was also in the target, about 2 inches apart. Glad I had a witness.

                            Anything can happen.

Did you check to make sure the insert was still in the shaft? Maybe it came unglued.
