A panel ain't nothing for them
Originally posted by Allaround View PostYep, they'll do it. I've heard to only wire the panels about half way up the post and when they get close to the top it'll bend back into the pen dumping them back in and then spring back up.
I'll have to try that on our trap.

We haven't had anything climb over yet, but we haven't caught anything big yet either.

Yep, seen them do it before in our round traps. In fact, at our local hog catching festival, I've seen them jump up and get their front feet over the top of a 4' fence and scramble over the top - sending spectators and staff scrambling around the football field (where the catching is located) in order to catch them. Hogs are a lot more agile and a lot better jumpers than people think! Sure, they prefer to dig under; but, in a pinch, they're able to jump pretty durn high!
