Question about batteries??

Just got a new Moultrie feeder today and was putting it together. There was a place to put 4 D batteries for power or you can use one 6 volt battery. Which last the longest is my question?

Got the same one we have used for years. All feeders set up so put a pop-up anywhere you want! Oats are coming up. Jeff and I put them up today. Trevor kills something before you do. LOL!! Go Trevor!!!

I believe a 6 volt lantern battery has about 11 amp hours, whereas a 1.5 volt D battery has about 12 amp hours. When placed in series, the volts add up but the amps remain the same - 12. The 6 volt rechargables usually have about 4.5 amp hours, your choice.
