Looks similar to bear track, but the only other ones I've ever seen were old like these and that was in 1983. One clue how the tracks are spaced, it looks like they almost cross. We're there more tracks? Was the animal checking/investigating or traveling in a line?

Sure looks like there may be 5 toes. If that's the case, it's not a dog or a cat. The track doesn't really look like a dog or cat anyway. The shape is wrong. If it does have 5 toes and its 4.5" across, I really wanna say bear. The toes do have more of a bear shape than dog or cat.
But is this in Lampasas?Last edited by Grizz83; 10-03-2013, 02:42 PM.

Yes, about 20 miles west of Lampasas.

After looking at many pics of cougar and bear prints, it looks like a bear and nothing like cougar prints, but it is very difficult for me to believe that there is a bear running around out there and these prints were made within the last 3-4 weeks tops because they were not there last time I was there.
Going back this weekend and gonna hang a few raw roasts and or chickens with cameras on them to see what happens.
