Without the Yankees, who ya' hatin' this year?

When your team is not in the playoffs, the second most fun thing is to root against a team you hate. Most years that role has been filled by the Yankees for a lot of fans but the hate will have to be directed elsewhere this time around. The Wall Street Journal came up with a "hateability index" complete with this handy chart:

I base a lot of it on the fans. Boston fans are every bit as obnoxious and entitled as Yankee fans - I will root against them. I also tend to root against the the big payroll clubs so the Dodgers are right up there too.

I don't like Oakland I can't stand Detroit, just because I get tired of hearing about Verlander.
Verlander is good, but I just get tired of hearing it.

Being a lifelong, (since my first trip to Fenway with my dad and grandpa at 4 years old), Sox fan I take exception to that!

I will continue to hate the yankees first and foremost. I will however be hating the Rays this weekend and then whoever the Sox face in the ALCS and then whoever they face in the WS!

Red Sox and Yankees are tied for the most hateable teams in baseball, and they're WAAAAAY ahead of all the other teams. The A's come next though.

Don't really dislike any of them. I want to hate the Dodgers simply because they're from LA but I really like a couple of their players. I've decided to root for the Pirates because they are the underdogs and I like their uniforms...

I wouldn't let McCutchen back on the field until he cut that hair.....he's a great player, but I HATE dreadlocks/braids/corn rows in baseball. Should be outlawed league wide.
