    When I make some noise.

And by noise I mean rattling and calling. Think maybe a yearling call will pull in a doe and that doe will pull in a buck? Or Do a light slow rattle to mimic two bucks kinda lightly sparring? What's y'all's take this early? Or just sit down, shut up, and wait? Lol

Hang around someone here has a good answer. I haven't seen nothing this morning, thought I might try something different to stir the woods up.

This past Sunday I watched two young deer lightly sparring. I tried it both Saturday and Sunday and nothing happened.

My first bow kill was the result of a fawn distress call. I blew it and a doe came running.

When I rattle I tear up the woods. Only deer I want to see is mr big. It is impossible for 1 person to sound like 2 big boys going at it.

Is it too early for that rough rattle or sparring rattle?

It's a little early for rattle but if you haven't seen anything and it's close to time to get out try it can't hurt. But still a few weeks from hard fighting atleast. Fawn distress good to get Dow be ready they come quick and leave quicker be ready to draw

I am not a pro or even good at it... but what I have seen. Early season light rattling has often called in the little bucks. It seems the does kick them out of their groups and they haven't bonded with any bachelor groups yet. So any deer noise seems to draw in the little guys looking for friendship. I once did some early rattling and called in the same spike three different times. Same weekend also called in a young fork horn. The doe can seems to work best or a fawn call. Seems the mama instinct is strong. Once in spring while trying to get photos of predators a fawn in distress call almost got me ran over by a doe.

Distress call 5-8 quick calls lasting 15-20sec pause then one more time works for me

I have called up more bucks accidentally than on purpose, trimming brush.

Why were you trimming with? Or just breaking the limbs?

Usually a pair of loppers and a buck saw. Cut and drag out of the shooting lane. I've had bucks make a scrape where I trimmed the day before. One particular buck followed me around scraping where I trimmed for a week. I named him Sparky because he was after me wanting to give me a whoopin.
