Alright folks. I found a relay at Fry's electronics for $6 that works perfect. I tested via test button at least 50 times with no "jam" issues at all. So, I think my experiment works just fine. I was using a 12v battery because this relay is rated at 12v. I couldn't find a 6v relay that I liked. It's very simple to wire the relay in. I'm gonna put it in a feeder tomorrow and see what happens. Here's a pic of the controller with relay wired in.Last edited by tpepper70; 07-12-2017, 06:07 AM.

I had the same problem with one of the smaller 12v motors with a 1/8 shaft and the large 12v battery. The timer showed JAM because the amps are to high from the battery for the small motor. Changed the motor to the larger one with 1/4 shaft and didn't have a problem. Everything worked fine. It might have worked as well if I used the smaller 12 battery that is the same size of the 6v batteries.
