I was out fort the first time yesterday for the morning and evening hunt. I saw zero, zilch, nada. And I mean on the drive in and the drive out (I called off my hunt early at sunset instead of 30 mins past.... it was a long day!) That in itself is unusual.
But, in between hutns, while I was checking my my "key", I noticed that a couple had been taken from the log. I think it was 3 the opening weekend and then another 3 or 4 after that. I ran into some that saw a few but no good shots.
I did have a surprise on my game cam. All of a sudden, two big bucks have shown up on my set. Not that I can do anything about it.
Even on camera, I don't have an established pattern, which I am told is normal for the hill. I'm told it gets better as the weather cools.

I went out Monday morning and sat in my common ground location. Nothing but a big ole coon. That afternoon I went and sat in my ground blind. 10 minutes after settleing in, my neighbor must've been trapping hogs because I heard what sounded like 8-12 shots ring out followed by a bunch of hogs squealing. Once that mess settled down, about an hour later a big tree snapped and came crashing down. It just wasn't meant to be. I think I lost about 46 pounds with all of the sweating I did, and saw absolutely nothing. Swamprabbit is right though, it gets much better when the weather cools down. So long story short.........you didn't miss a thing!

I've been out at least one day each weekend since the opener. Weather hasn't really cooperated with me. Rain, wind, rain. I have only seen a couple but they never came in for a shot. Have seen several driving in and out. Someone's dogs have come through a couple of times, so I will have to address that.
I had corn growing under my feeder too, but I got out on Saturday for about 30 minutes before the rain and saw that it was grazed down and the kernels were eaten. So they are coming in again, just not on my schedule.
