I get home yesterday and get everything all set up to sight in my new scope on the .30-06 and my dads .243. I have the perfect little burm behind the shop from leftover topsoil that was removed from the pad (for all the GS nit pickers, there's nothing between my house and US 287 about 8-10 miles) and set up a simple target made from wooden stakes, plywood and a sheet of paper with a quarter sized mark in the center. I pull out the Ranger and throw a piece of 3/4" plywood over the bed. Make a few sand bags and I'm ready to go.
First I set up at 25 yards. No problem 2 rounds of each, make minor adjustments and I'm dead on. So I move out to 100 yards. It takes 3-4 rounds to get the .243 zeroed in. """Now is where the idiot part comes into play"""" Its starting to get dark so I'm rushing a bit, get down over the .30-06 without using the chair for some reason, pull the trigger and DOINK!!!!! THE DAMM SCOPE PUNCHES ME IN THE FOREHEAD!!!!!!! I wake up this morning with a half moon bruise above my right eyebrow!!!!! And its still sore as heck!!!!
