Missing opening day

Missing it as well. Have too much going on this weekend and couldn't leave the wife to handle it alone. I will be missing next week as well as its my 10 yr reunion. It will be on in two weeks!!

I missed it & will miss all week. In Ruidoso replacing roof on RV. Nice weather though. Low of 40 this morning & high of 63 today!!!

I've had a lot of opening days in my young life. Being as I started at something like 10, that would make about 60 of them. So, missing this one really doesn't seem like that big a deal. When your 70 opening day is just another day. I didn't even plan on going out until Monday. Then I'll just go out, sit in a tree and if something wanders by I might shoot (if I can remember how it works. Old farts have short memories.) Honestly, I'm pretty stoked about Monday. Got me a nice tender young buck (legal spread) all picked out. But if he doesn't show, I've still been sitting in a tree an enjoying the sights, whatever they may be. Ever watch how the squirrels haul backside just before the pigs how up. I call it my early warning system. Funny, they either feel it or hear it long before I do.

Missed my first in a looonnng time - headed to Vegas Sun for work and spent day w/mama since I will be gone. My opener will happen next week

It was well worth me missing . My niece looks so beautiful at her wedding . My little girl was the flower girl . She did a great job . Family has always and will always come first

i missed it. helped a friend install a 12 x 12 garage door on his new home and working today. my first hunt this year will be next weekend near Bracketville on a mld doe hunt using my rifle.

Didn't go...just returned from AZ Friday from an elk hunt. They really mean less and less to me as I get older. Now if we had cool weather and the rut approaching it would be a different story

My land owner will not let me hunt until general season opens, but he still lets me use my archery equipment! I have a really good land owner that I lease from so I don't mind the couple of little odd rules he has. So, I will sit in a few stands this month doing some scouting and getting ready for my opening weekend!

I missed it been working 12-14 hr days this past week and our camper isn't at the lease yet. It would've been at least 10 pm before I could've gotten to the lease and didn't want to try to setup a tent that late. Spending the weekend with the wife. Next weekend is my boys birthday party so I'll miss hunting then too. Plan to be there on the third weekend though.
