    Call me crazy....

    Call me crazy for asking this this late, but i was asked earlier. I was absolutely sure that doe were legal game during archery season. Well, now I've been looking in the TPWD annual and don't see the answer to the question. Tomorrow morning will be my first time in the stand with a bow...

      No permit required:unless MLD permits have been issued for the property.

      General SeasonNov. 2, 2013 - Jan. 5, 2014


      Antlerless Permit:On United States Forest Service, Corps of Engineers, and river authority lands, the take of antlerless deer shall be by permit only. On other tracts of land, antlerless deer may be taken without permits from Nov. 2-Dec. 1, 2013. Dec. 2-Jan. 5, 2013, antlerless deer may be taken by antlerless MLDP permit or LAMPS permit only. On tracts of land for which LAMPS permits have been issued, no LAMPS permit is required during the archery-only or muzzleloader-only open season.

              I agree with the above. IF I am reading it correctly then they only clarify the general season for doe harvesting. Better safe than sorry.

                You are clear to shoot doe, but you doe season might end before the end if rifle season.
