How many of us have had a deer of a life time or a shooter buck that you watched all summer to only have him disappear before opening weekend? And also how many of us thought we'd get a crack at him?

Every single year. I actually don't expect to take any of the better bucks I find on TCs until mid November, at the earliest- unless its by dumb luck. Which DOES happen. The majority of the better bucks I find remain, primarily, nocturnal until the weather cools off. Doesn't mean I don't hunt; but my expectations remain fairly low as my freezer fills with some doe meat.

Just curious. Last season I had a drop tone 10pt that I passed the year before as an 8pt. He was on my camera like clock work all summer up to mid September then he vanished. Never saw him or had him on camera again.
