With archery, there really isn't a shot that will ensure a drop. When you spine shoot them, they will drop, but you have to out another one in them to kill em. I'd say if you are bow hunting, go for the vitals and track. A well placed shot will drop them fast enough so that you aren't tracking all over creation. Bow hunting requires tracking, but to me that is part of the fun

Really no guaranteed shot with an arrow to put them right down. Like Maxxisman said, put it through the vitals and follow up the blood trail. You may luck out and hit the offside shoulder and have him drop . . .

If you're worreid about the weather than don't shoot a doe unless you don't have another chance at them and only take very high precentage shots on a buck. Broadside or slightly quartering at 20ish yards or less.

That's my plan if the weather is sour. Plus I can take my two or three doe anytime I want during the season. October is for Buck Huntin.

Not intentionally. Hit 'em in the lungs and they wont go far. Good Luck

Just make sure you don't jump up to trail them. They need time to lay down and bleed out. Made that rookie mistakes a few years back. Take your time, place a good shot, and after connection watch closely to what the deer does. You want to have a good idea where the arrow hit as well as which way the deer went. Then sit back, relax, and listen for your deer crashing through the woods. I am not a pro but this is what I was taught. Good luck on your hunt.
