Red hot

The rut in Brazoria county is in full swing right now. It has actaully been going on for a couple of weeks now but it is red hot right here at the opener. My wife and I drove around the ranch early this morning and saw a lot of activity with several dominate bucks locked up with a does and fighting off younger bucks. A few nice bucks with broken tines too.

Not on the Gulf Coast where he's at. I'm between him and San Antonio and our rut is late October. It varies by region.

I didn't believe it either, but check out the TPWD study. Gulf Praries and Marshes had a peak breeding of Sept 30th in one section. Crazy. You miss out on the best pre-rut tactics. I wonder what Nov hunting is like there.

Yep, in Matagorda County it is in full swing right now.

Where I hunt in Victoria County it is early but not quite this early. It'll peak in mid-October.
