Alright, who has had shingles?

I had a rash pop up two days ago and today it's the worst pain ever. Doc said it was shingles. What should I expect?

I've had them. The doc can give you a pill to help, but it's a lot like chicken pox and has to run it's course. Wouldn't wish them on anyone. Missed 4 days of work. Good luck.

I had them once due to being stressed out went to the doc gave me a shot and some meds and told me to change jobs.

I just got over them. Wasn't bad for me. Very little pain, itched more than anything. I don't think that's the norm though.

If you have a bad case as I did, you can expect to have problems for about a month to six weeks. I would not wish that on my enemies, good luck to you.

Had them as a kid. Don't remember much but still have scars from them.

Had the shingles when I was 16yrs. old. Was up all night scratching, Dr give me some pain medicine to stop it.

Those of you who are over 50 should get the vaccine. A friend of mine has them on his face and head and its been an an going battle for a year or so. He is still on meds.

Well I'm 29 and it sucks. They gave me the anti viral pills. Offered me a pain killer I didn't take, I may be calling them back tomorrow.

My dad, last year, 75 years old, decided to get tooth implants. He had the shingles shot @5 years ago. During the tooth removal/post implants, and the supposed weakness, he got the shingles.

Cannot use his left arm, happened during the Arkansas deer season 2012. About a month ago he fell at church mowing, hurt the right arm along with a collapsed lung. He is walking around and can't use either arm (no jokes).

Since this happened I've been thinking of getting the shot, he said shingles hurt more than anything. He has back surgery, heart stints, triple bypass, and this brought him to his knees.

Wife just got over them and i can tell you fo sho i don't want them.We are both going to get the shot.She said the pain was real real bad.Lasted about 3 weeks till she finally got over it.
