This, I try to tell people this all the time but very few listen and then they can't figure out why the pigs didn't come when they had been coming in every night. Also once they get a whiff of that new smell, they will either just bug out or they will circle until they catch your wind. I don't even like putting out extra corn because I have been busted by it because they are used to seeing a certain amount all spread out by the feeder. If you do add extra corn, make sure it's spread out good and not in piles. Also make sure you don't get any scent on the corn or around the area because smart pigs and smell a human several hours after they have walked through a area even with rubber boots. If I do put out extra corn, I use a plastic container to hold the corn and I will throw it out from my stand so I don't get any of my scent in the area and be sure you don't touch any of the corn.

Sure you can walk all over your area and pour out corn and basically do everything wrong and still kill a pig but you will have a lot more success if you don't add anything new to the area, play the wind and don't walk through the baited area the same day your hunting it.

I think this is one of the reasons you see so many live hunt threads for pigs that the person has the pigs coming every evening and then they don't show the evening they hunt.

One more thing that is very important, try to figure out where the pigs are coming from and then make sure when you walk to the stand you don't walk across any trail that they are coming from. I've watched pigs bust my scent on their trail on the way into the feeder several times and a couple of times it was 5 hours after I had walked through.

Putting out just hand corn is completely different as they will get used to some human smell being around. You will probably notice that the first time they find it will be late and as long as you keep baiting it they will come for it earlier and earlier. In this case just make sure the day you hunt it that you continue to bait it the same way and time. For example, if you are going out and baiting everyday at 12pm, the day you hunt it you should bait it a 12pm, not when you go to hunt it at say 6pm. Also, if the pigs are coming in before dark our right at dark then they are more then likely bedding real close so make sure you are very sneaky when you go to hunt so they don't hear you.
