    First Blood

This evening I decided to go check out my feeder and camera. Got everything situated and figured what the heck, I'm going to check out the back pasture and see whats out there. I've had a small group of 3 pigs hitting the feeder the past month. Sure enough they are out there rooting around. I ran back to the house and decided to do a stalk with the new bow and see what happens. Started out 423 yds away and got within 100yds before the largest sow sensed somethings up. I have practiced at 100yds and pretty comfortable especially when its calm. I took a few steps closer and ranged at 88yds. Drew back and let her fly. It was like slow motion at that point. Pretty cool feeling when the arrow finds its mark and the pig starts squeeling! Noticed about a dozen piglets running around once I hit her. Ran out of daylight while tracking and will go find her in the morning. I could hear her taking deep breathes for a couple minutes. Hope to load LDPs in the AM. Either way it felt good to get out for a change. I hate leaving animals to lay but pigs are a different story.

Anybody know the survival chances on the piglets? They were the size of a football.

    Sorry for the long read.

I wish I had a lighted nock. Then again, I'm glad I didn't. Last I saw my arrow was hanging half way out the other side.

Those piglets, unfortunately, will make it. I killed two sows about 5 months ago that each had a litter and the piglets were the size of a 1 liter coke bottle, they are still showing up at my feeder.

Lol! I LOVE IT! Was a rough start when i first got it. Never owned a bow that shoots fixed blades as straight as field points. I know it has a lot to do with tuning and this baby is sweet!

That blows! I hope they die. My wife and I are out laying under the stars and I can see flashes from my camera every 5 minutes at my feeder 300yds away. Hope its deer but have a feeling its the pigs.
