Had to use my ccw this morning

Let my dog out back and heard a ton of commotion a little after. Went outside and the two neighbor dogs had broken through the fence yet again and were attacking my dog. Shot one to save my dog and they ran back into their yard. Called the cops and animal control. Cops said I did what I had to do and thanked me for making sure I had an appropriate back stop before shooting. (made sure to let them know any pass throughs or misses went into the grass still in my yard). Not sure what animal control did as far as taking their dogs.

I'm a dog lover, and I don't like having to do that, but I love my dog more than anyone else's. I had to protect him.

The sad part is I had to shoot the boxer. The Doberman is the aggressive problem dog that keeps breaking through. The boxer only joined in on pack mentality, but the Dobie ran back in their yard as soon as it saw me, and the boxer stayed on Shoes.

No harm no foul from the police, but I think shoes is gonna stay crated inside in case the neighbor wants revenge

That's really sad on your neighbors part that they didn't do more to control their dogs. Good for you for protecting your pet.

Should kick the crap out of the neighbor. Why? I saw the word "AGAIN". No need in a repeat offender. Castle doctrine applies to people, pets and possessions.

                      why?

                      get bit then react?

whats his morale obligation to do that?

You did right, unfortunate that you had to do it.

I wasn't going to risk my own safety.
They have a hot wire they never leave on because it "runs up the electric bill".

lol, so he can get bit to? That's the last thing anybody should do, never confront a dog you don't know that's already po'd. He did what he should have and glad one dog down. Maybe can get the next dog next week, hopefully not at the expense of Shoes again though...

All male dogs I assume? What prompted them to come over? Female in heat in the area?

I have a big Catahoula you can borrow. He will break that Doberman of sucking eggs, I guarantee it.

Lol I do want the other dog gone, but I'm not gonna shoot it just cause it's in my yard. Those days I call AC and have him taken to the pound. Then the neighbor gets to pay $75 to get him out. So far he's $375 in the hole for pound fees
