That is definetly the worst thing about the "ammo panic of 2013". Sadly, plinking has become a thing of the past. I talked to a guy the other day who lines up bright and early several times a week to buy .22 ammo. He told me his goal is to collect 100 bricks. That is 50,000 rounds - he said it will just make him "feel good" to have them. Feeling good is important, I suppose but I expect in 20 years you will be able to buy .22 ammo by the pound at garage and estate sales all over America. Of course nobody will want them because the adults at that time never got to plink as kids because of the paranoid horders and will have no use for them.

I no longer plink....I just can't afford the loss of my rounds anymore. I am about to buy a nice pellet gun to cure this.
