Are y’all seeing the rut starting earlier this year? Had a couple of guys out at the ranch this past weekend and they are seeing bucks with their noses in the ground. Ours is usually the first of December.

I saw a couple of young bucks pushing does a little, but not a lot of it. Like you said it's usually the first of December before things really get jiggy.

The Last 2 years I didn't see any real rut activity, not even in December and was wondering if it happened early the past 2 years. I am heading out this weekend and will try rattling etc. I do know this I saw Bucks and Does work scrapes Last time I was there.

I rattled up a nice 11 point last year and took him at 40 yards. I wish I had let him pass though because he turned out to only be 3.5. The 2015 season I couldn't get anything to respond to the horns.

I'm headed out this Thursday evening to the lease. I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.

Well we had a Pretty good Trip. The wife got our #1 on the Hit List and we were Pumped to say the Least. I passed this deer Last Year and I bet he added 20 inches. He was 6.5 years old by the jaw, I hate aging deer out here because I am usually off. I usually think they are younger than they are but hey We are proud of this one.

Ole Freezerfiller got him a Cull. He was 4.5+ by the Jaw and big Body.

This was a Really heavy Deer Looked like if he makes it next year he could be GREAT. Freezerfiller and I both passed him and agreed to let him make it, we just hope the neighbors do the same.
