After working like a mad man for the past several weeks I am finally done with all the jobs I had going, and have told everyone else that wanted me to do jobs, to jump in a lake!
Early in the morning, we are headed out! Dad and I will be dropping Brett off at the airport and we are driving up! I'm not real happy that he will beat us there by hours but I wont complain.
Driving is part of the journey and I am looking forward to having a good chat with my dad on the way!
I am super pumped about this hunt, with my dad drawing a muzzle loader tag. Brett and I will both be bow hunting. My dad is 71 and I'm not sure he will draw another tag while he is still in good enough condition to scale the hills. I am so excited to take him and call him in a big bull!! I hope I can help him get an elk in effort to pay him back for all the years he spent taking me hunting when I was a kid.
Brett has been hunting/scouting earlier in the season and has seen some good bulls!
For the first few days I probably won't be taking my bow so I can just help him. I also am going to try to film him hunting and hopefully taking a shot!
God has blessed me with this opportunity and I hope to make the most of it.
I have a real good feeling about all 3 of our chances to get it done this year.
Dad has until Sunday eve then he will be flying back. Brett and I plan on staying until the end of the season or until we get it done. Last year the rut got real good on the last 2 days of the season. This year the season lasts a week longer so I am thinking that last week will be awesome!
